Welcome to the October edition of the Lancaster company newsletter! Autumn has arrived bringing with it its cooler weather and some rather blustery winds. Nevertheless, we’ve had a great start to the season with the first of the fairs underway, more on which we talk about in the newsletter. We’ve also been busy gathering and enjoying the last of the garden goods, so we thought we’d talk about some of our wonderful harvest-inspired decorative items, along with our much-loved Welsh blankets to keep you warm this Autumn, so read on!
Cosy up for Autumn with our Wonderful Welsh Blankets
As much as we love the warm weather, it sadly isn’t here to stay, so we are ready to retreat indoors into cosier surroundings for the colder seasons ahead. Why not nestle up by the fire with one of our beautifully warm Welsh blankets? This one pictured below is in a Brynkir pattern in a khaki and pink colourway – the perfect blanket to keep you warm whilst adding style to your home.
Harvest-inspired Decorative Items
At this time of year, many of us will be reaping nature’s bounty as we enjoy the remaining fruits and vegetables from the garden. In light of this, we thought we would take the opportunity to showcase a couple of our harvest-inspired decorative items, such as this fun pair of green glass pears. This vibrant duo (which look good enough to eat!) would look great in a kitchen, on a mantel piece or in a home office – and will add a lovely pop of colour too.
If colour isn’t your thing and you’re looking for something a little more practical, this charming brass nutcracker is ideal for this time of year – especially if you’re lucky enough to have your own walnut tree! It would also look great styled on a sideboard or on a mantel piece.
Fair Updates
Autumn is the season that marks the first of the fairs in the run-up to Christmas. Fairs are a great way for us to meet with you face-to-face to show you our wonderful stock in person. On Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd September, we visited Hutton Wandesley Stables in Yorkshire for the Yorkshire Pop-up fair – it was a fantastic couple of days and the venue was brilliant!
We have various fairs coming up in October, with The Hampshire Fair at The Grange, Alresford, on Wednesday 4th October. Tickets are £5 in advance or £7 on the day, with proceeds going to local charities in Hampshire – more details can be found here. We will also be attending Friends of Essex Churches Trust Gift Fair at Hylands House, Chelmsford, on Wednesday 11th October. Tickets are £5 and proceeds will go towards transforming the churches of Essex and East London into places of worship their communities want to use today and tomorrow. Rockbourne Fair at Salisbury Racecourse, Wiltshire, will be between Wednesday 18th – Friday 20th October – tickets for the fair are £5 and are available on the door, with proceeds going to the Stars Appeal Charity which helps thousands of local people at Salisbury District Hospital get better faster, return home sooner and have a more positive hospital experience. As always, we hope to see you there!
If you would like to know the dates for the fairs we will be attending this year, you can find the full list in our September newsletter on our website.
